The Protege is NOT a sports car, not even close.

The Mazdaspeed Protege was maybe not a sports car, but it was definitely not in the same class as a Civic Si from that time. You had a turbo, and MacPherson suspension. It was honestly one of the best front forward handling cars of the the era and 200HP in 200x was pretty impressive for an "entry level" vehicle.
I'd honestly put it between the Civic Si and Evo from that era. It was a damn fun car to drive. Loved mine.

There was a time when the term "sports car" actually signified something.
