1966 Pontiac Bonneville 6.5L V8 from North America

Summary:

This car is a comfortable, luxury, performance car that will never let you down

Faults:

I replaced a wire to the alternator at 60,000.

Changed the oil at 60,500.

I'm pulling at straws here, this car is the most reliable thing ever made.

General Comments:

This car is awesome to drive, it really makes me smile when I can show the ricers that a huge old Pontiac can still beat the heck out of them at a stop light.

330 HP from the factory.

"Changed the oil at 60,500"

I really, really, really hope that this wasn't the only oil change this vehicle has received.. makes me shudder to even think about what would happen if it was the first.

So you blow away the ricers with 4-5 times the engine displacement?

Wow, that is impressive. Your mother must be so proud.

1966 Pontiac Bonneville 400 from North America

Summary:

How can you lose

Faults:

Rear turn signal shorted out once.

General Comments:

This car is 37 years old and still runs great.

They don't make em like this anymore.

Old cars are the easiest to repair.

This thing is a beast and it hauls.

Handling is a little weak, as with most gian cars from the 60's feels like it's floating around turns.

I own a 1967 of the same - the Bonneville is a beautiful car for long trips as well as the "saturday night cruise". I strongly recommend buying one if you enjoy large, comfortable cars - and mine gets better mileage than most SUV's - 18mpg!
