1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue 3.3L 60 degree V6 from North America
Summary:
Very comfortable and reliable
Faults:
Rear view mirror fell off.
Turn signal switch stopped working.
Trunk lift springs broke.
Piece of transmission snap ring in the transmission pan when I did a fluid change.
Previous owner said the engine computer died a couple years ago, but was replaced with a new one.
General Comments:
This car is the most comfortable car I've ever owned, with the plush seats and more legroom then an SUV.
I picked this car up to keep as a spare car to drive when my other ones break down. It seems reliable, but I did find a piece of a snap ring from the transmission when I dropped the pan and changed the fluid. The transmission shifts even better now, and I don't see it as an issue yet, until shifting becomes erratic.
Mileage is OK, I usually take it to 375km in the city before filling. Theoretically, I've calculated it to do over 550km on the highway, probably more, but I haven't had a change to test full highway mileage yet. A lot better than the Explorer I own.
It does have a big turning radius, interesting for 14 inch tires, but I did get used to it in parking lots.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

They will bring back Walter Chrysler before they bring back this monstrosity.
